This is one of my favorite recipes, and it comes to you courtesy of my sister-in-law! It was a cold, Halloween night, and she served a group of us these simple pork tacos on corn tortilla shells while we sat on the front porch handing out candy to the local neighborhood kids. I fell in love!
This dish is great if you want something easy and quick to prepare that still packs a punch of flavor and spice. Whether you are cooking for 2 or 10, or want to cook extra to have leftovers for another day, this basic main course dish is very versatile and easy to adjust to accommodate your taste buds.
Customize your meal by pairing this main dish with any taco sides or “stuffings” of your choice (my husband and I always have pico de gallo, avocado, beans and cheese – LOTS OF CHEESE – at the ready!). You can also adjust the spice level to your liking by adjusting the amount of sriracha and brown sugar added to the pot (note, the heat and spice will cook into the pork, leaving the final dish less “severe” than the poignant smell of the original mix).
